TOGETHER
WE CAN FIND
LOVE
OUR STORY.
Star Valley Flame of Life was born from a deep desire to love, support and breathe hope into other humans who are, have, or ever will struggle with any sort of mental health issues or suicide ideation. It is also to support individuals and families who have lost loved ones to suicide or are supporting a loved one through mental health struggles.
On September 6, 2021, I lost my 18-year-old son, Teagan, to suicide. Teagan was an amazing person with so much love to give and value to offer the world. Teagan left behind his parents, four brothers, two sisters, a sister-in-law and many, many extended family members and friends who loved him so much. His earthly presence is missed each and every day.
Very soon after losing Teagan, I had a deep desire to somehow, someway, raise awareness about mental health and suicide. I didn’t know where, when, how, or what, but I knew WHY and that’s all I needed. I knew from walking along-side Teagan, from my own personal struggles with mental health, and from individuals who had reached out to me, that we needed something. We need open, comfortable, dialog. We need safe places and safe people to reach out to. We need education for supporting loved ones through difficulties and we need love, support, and hope for everyone, in all aspects of this very real, very common issue.
Friends, Star Valley Flame of Life is an event, but my hope is, that it’s only the beginning. Again, I don’t know exactly where or when or how or what, but I do know WHY and that’s all I need. Thank you for supporting this very worthy cause.
